Members and friends of the Italian American Society of St. Petersburg (IASOSP) are of all backgrounds, united by a common interest in the richness of Italy's culture and history.
IASOSP was formed in 1985 and has played a prominent role in the community. It seeks to:
- Preserve and encourage interest in Italian culture.
- Foster and develop educational and cultural presentations and activities emphasizing and illustrating the history, art, science, language and customs of Italy.
- Foster an awareness of the contributions that Americans of Italian heritage have given to our society and country.
We are founding members of the St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society (SPIFFS) www.spiffs.org; and members of the Florida Federation of Italian American Clubs.
