Italian Classes
The IASOSP will be opening our season on Thursday, September 7th, 2023 with two hours of classes at The Gulfport Senior Center. Here are the details:
6PM to 7PM Classes for Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels of Italian
7PM to 8PM Classes for Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced levels of Italian
What textbook is used? Beginning and Intermediate level classes use “Italian Made Simple”, by Cristina Mazzoni, ISBN # 978-0-7679-1539-7. Books can be purchased on the evening of September 7th from the IASOSP. A book discount is available when a membership is purchased. Books can also be purchased from Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
Where are classes held? Classes are held at our traditional venue, The Gulfport Senior Center, 5501 27th Ave S, Gulfport.
Who can attend? Students of any age are welcome! You can attend if you’ve never studied Italian, taken Italian in school or know some Italian from traveling in-country or heard Italian from your grandparents.

How can I become a member of the IASOSP? Membership is open to all. Being Italian or of Italian ancestry is not a requirement. Membership enrollment will be available on the evening of September 7th, 2023 at the Gulfport Senior Center. Benefits of membership include substantial discounts to local Italian restaurants and discounts to both IASOSP’s Christmas party and season ending Pizza Party as well as a discount applied to the purchase of the textbook, “Italian Made Simple”.
